Transcendent: adjective 1. Going beyond ordinary limits; surpassing; exceeding. Raymond Vineyards proprietary red blend, ‘Transcendent,’ is the first release harvested exclusively from a singular block on the Raymond Vineyards’ Rutherford estate. Farmed according to organic and biodynamic methods, this Premiere Napa Valley wine is aligned with the natural harmony and rhythms of nature, transcending the ordinary and going into the realm of the extraordinary. Harvested during a descending moon from the same block on the densely planted Rutherford vineyard, the Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot grapes were co-fermented, followed by an extended 36-day maceration. This unique field blend has been for 19 months with 50% new French oak barrels. Black cherry, dark raspberry and minerality prevail in the bouquet, epitomizing Rutherford dust terroir. The Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc frame the wine with a solid structure, while the Malbec and Merlot provide lushness to complete this perfectly balanced universe in a glass.
