Winemaker, Luc Morlet

Luc’s professional career began upon completion of graduate school as the assistant winemaker for the Val d’Or Champagne Cellars. In 1994, Luc worked under the guidance of consultant Jacques Boissenot at Chateau Dauzacx, a classified Margaux growth, and began crafting his skills in making Bordeaux-style wines. In 1996, Luc’s California winemaking career began with time spent at Newton Vineyard, when he was hired as the director of viticulture. In 2001, Luc joined the Peter Michael Winery as their winemaker. Continuing Helen Turley and Mark Aubert’s legacy, Luc’s technical leadership helped Peter Michael to improve upon its already acclaimed wines from 2001 through 2005. In 2006, Luc started Morlet Family Vineyards with his wife, crafting premium wines from both Bordeaux and Burgundy varietals. Luc joined Vineyard 7&8 as the winemaker prior to the 2007 harvest.
