Description

This wine is the marriage of two adjacent, hillside vineyards in the Diamond Mountain District nested appellation. A warm, dry spring brought early bud break, helped with canopy vigor and berry size, and created ideal conditions for flowering and fruit set under sunny skies. Temperatures were consistently in the zone for optimal vine activity. Harvest occurred on September 14, 2014, a month earlier than normal. The wine shows smooth tannins, moderate oak - typical of Vineyard {511} wines - and intensely concentrated blackberry, currant and cocoa flavors. They've produced a supple, elegant Cabernet, with great balance.

Rob Lloyd was raised in a family where wines were an integral part of each evening's meal. Little did he know that this proximity to wine would lead him one day into the profession of wine making.
