Our Vintage 2008 commemorated 10 years of handcrafting premium Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. A lengthy frost season decreased yields dramatically, and as low yields usually equal high quality, Vintage 2008 turned out to be exceptional. Following a cool, dry spring was consistent summer sunshine with evenly moderate temperatures that allowed the small crop to cruise to optimum ripeness. These maturity levels, coupled with the high skin-to-juice ratios of the small berries, resulted in fruit containing excellent concentration of dark berry flavors, ripe and round fleshy tannin and deep, dark pigment. Your wine spent 20 months aging in 80% new French oak barrels, rounding out the palate even further, while adding more texture, aroma and flavor components. Expect to find deep aromas of cassis, blackberry, dark chocolate, caramelized oak, toffee and the Buoncristiani signatures of balance, depth on the mid-palate and a lengthy, persistent finish.
