  • Aging in barrel for 20 months, bottled unfined and unfiltered, this is a wine to celebrate

Description

In the spirit of mentorship, this lot celebrates the collaboration between Favia winemaker Jessica Tarpy-Shaheen and proprietor Andy Erickson. This duo has been making wine together, along with viticulturist Annie Favia, since 2008. Jessica moved to Napa Valley that year and became “Employee Number One” at Favia, until then a true “mom-and-pop” operation. She holds degrees from UCLA and Fresno State, but really it’s her Louisiana spirit that shines through in everything she does. Andy Erickson is a graduate of Tufts University with a Master’s Degree from UC Davis, and he likes to remind people of his blue ribbon in the Science Fair at Mary Feeser Elementary School in Elkhart, Indiana in 1977. Together these two (actually three) have put their passion into their craft for a decade and a half. The grapes for this offering come from Rancho Chimiles, a generational family-owned farm in the Vaca Mountains above Wooden Valley, farmed by the father-and-son team of Terry and David Wilson.
