The Cowboy of Wall Street
2020 Cabernet Sauvignon
Stags Leap District
Former New Yorker turned Napa Valley vintner Malek Amrani understands that some of the best investments are made during times of uncertainty and disarray. While Harvest 2020 had its fair share of hurdles, this batch is a testimony that Napa Valley’s greatness is an undeniable timeless asset despite the vintage’s challenges. Your wine is dark and dense in color with a vivid, ripe nose of Acaï, violet and sandalwood. On the palate, the entrance is bright and concentrated, steadily building through with layers of fig jam, toasted coconut, vanilla bean and melted chocolate. The finish is long and chewy, promising to pay dividends for years ahead in the cellar.
Winemaker, The Vice
Malek Amrani is an entrepreneur at the helm of The Vice Wine. The Vice Wine has grown into a luxury brand that reflects the values of its founders: quality, sustainability, sophistication, and health. A self-made leader in the wine and spirits industry, Malek moved from Morocco to New York City at a young age. He got a humble start in hospitality by working as a barback at a local restaurant, and realized he wanted to work his way up the industry. He soon became the beverage director of an upscale restaurant in Manhattan. After a decade as a highly successful wine distributor in the beverage industry, Malek knew what he truly wanted to do: produce Napa Valley wines with primary goal to offer consumers exceptional quality Napa Valley wine at an affordable price.
With a firm belief that luxury and accessibility can truly go hand in hand, his vision was to create a brand that would allow even an everyday occasion to be marked by a fabulous wine. The result is The Vice Wine—a family-run, boutique enterprise that prides itself on small batches of inspired wines.
The grapes that go into The Vice Wine are sourced from select vineyards throughout the Napa Valley—chosen because they are the finest representation of both the varietal and the AVA. The resulting wines are exclusively single-vineyard to maintain the integrity of the terroir.
