Description
In 2001, when Joseph Wagner set out to craft a true, vineyard-designated Pinot Noir, he broke ground in California’s coastal regions, where cool temperatures create the long, steady growing season that’s well suited for such an elegant grape. And when it came time to label the bottle, he chose the most elegant name he knew—Belle Glos. The name honors his grandmother, Lorna Belle Glos Wagner, co-founder of Caymus Vineyards and an inspirational figure in Joseph’s commitment to viticulture. Belle Glos represents the culmination of a legacy of elegance with the 2021 Belle Glos Eulenloch, a single-vineyard classic California Pinot Noir from the celebrated Los Carneros nested appellation. It’s a vintage that enjoyed a near-perfect growing season in which ideal hang time allowed the grapes to achieve spectacular color and flavor. Its generous style will resonate with Pinot Noir fans who love complexity and richness. The darker fruits of blackberry, boysenberry and cherry combine like velvet, while hints of chocolate nibs and brown sugar leave a lush, elegant finish. French oak barrels harmonize the complexity to create a wine that is as nuanced and rich as its history.
Joseph Wagner
Winemaker, Belle Glos
Joseph is a fifth-generation Napa Valley winemaker with a dedicated passion for the business. Joe’s roots in the winemaking began at an early age. His family founded Caymus Vineyards in Napa Valley.
In 2001 at age 19, he rolled up his sleeves and has yet to look back. His passion and natural talent for winemaking quickly became apparent after he started his own award-winning single vineyard Pinot Noir label, Belle Glos.
In January 2014, Joe formed Copper Cane Wine & Provisions, with the goal of focusing on innovations that have always captured his interest, and to find new ways to offer the highest quality products that satisfy consumers’ appetites for genuine craftsmanship.
