Description
Vintner Linda Neal fondly recalls the origin of this wine. “This is a truly unique wine, and my favorite in a blind tasting of the first seven vintages. As winemaker David DeSante honed his skills to ever finer elevation of Tierra Roja, he commissioned custom-made barrels for the 2009 which included French staves, save for one that was American, with Hungarian heads. So delicious, it was featured in the Oakville Winegrowers’ annual Masterclass. After 13 years it is still elegant and powerful at the same time. A rare treat from my personal cellar.”
