Three Palms Merlot Block 4
2020 Merlot
Napa Valley
One of California’s legendary vineyards, Three Palms’ unique terroir has been a consistent benchmark for New World Merlot. Duckhorn Vineyards has been producing a vineyard-designated Merlot from this site since our inaugural vintage in 1978. Named for its three iconic palm trees, the warm, upvalley vineyard features lean soils that cause the vines to send their roots deep in search of nutrients, producing an intense, ageworthy wine with complex fruit and mineral layers. Three Palms is covered by volcanic stones, which absorb the sun’s heat during the day and radiate the heat back to the vines at night, protecting against frost and helping to ripen the fruit. Your special, one-of-a-kind Premiere Napa Valley lot is comprised of 100% Merlot and is aging in 100% new French oak for 18 months. Sourced from one of our winemaker’s favorite vineyard blocks, the depth, complexity and ageworthy structure of this unique Block 4 selection from Three Palms Vineyard is sure to impress.
