Description

This special lot of 2020 Grieve estate Sauvignon Blanc was crafted exclusively for Premiere Napa Valley by our renowned winemaker Philippe Melka, from the rare FSP-06 Clone planted to our Lovall Valley estate vineyard. One of Napa Valley’s most remote sites, and certainly its coolest, Lovall Valley enjoys a unique fog-cooled microclimate and elevated hillside exposures that are in concert with our own meticulous, vine-by-vine organic viticulture which produces fruit of extraordinary varietal purity and structural precision. In the cellar, Philippe and fellow winemaker Maayan Koschitzky employed gentle, whole-cluster pressing followed by a unique mixed-vessel approach in which the lot was both fermented and aged in a combination of French oak barrel, concrete egg and steel tank. The resulting wine is both vibrantly expressive and sublimely sophisticated, displaying the focused stone fruit, exotic notes and textural complexity that are hallmarks of our Lovall Valley estate. We recommend that you hold this wine for at least one year before serving, and optimally cellar for up to five years to appreciate its full aging potential.
