Trois Noix

Muir Hanna Vineyard

Chardonnay
Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley

5 cases produced

Highlights

  • Fruit for your wine was sourced from the H4 block of Muir-Hanna Vineyard, originally planted in 1987-1988 to Clone 17
  • Whole-cluster pressed, settled overnight, and racked to eight barrels, one puncheon with no new barrel
  • Your wine was crafted with partial indigenous fermentation, with malolactic fermentation blocked
  • Medium-bodied and broad, yet the wine tightens on the mid-palate to a focused and lengthy finish

Description

This auction lot is the culmination of Trois Noix's guiding principles: Community, Opportunity, and Possibility. Our good friend, 6th generation winegrower Michael Hanna, presented us with an opportunity to harvest a small lot of Chardonnay planted in 1987. Based on the spectacular wines we've already made from the Muir-Hanna Vineyard and the Oak Knoll District, we knew there was a possibility to create something extraordinary. Fermented and aged in neutral oak, this old vine Chardonnay showcases concentrated aromas and flavors of green and gold fruits. It has a complexity, focus, and lingering finish that is sure to make it the star of our white wine collection. Fresh and ready to drink upon its release but sure to be a wine that will age gracefully.
