Muir Hanna Vineyard
2020 Chardonnay
Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley
This auction lot is the culmination of Trois Noix's guiding principles: Community, Opportunity, and Possibility. Our good friend, 6th generation winegrower Michael Hanna, presented us with an opportunity to harvest a small lot of Chardonnay planted in 1987. Based on the spectacular wines we've already made from the Muir-Hanna Vineyard and the Oak Knoll District, we knew there was a possibility to create something extraordinary. Fermented and aged in neutral oak, this old vine Chardonnay showcases concentrated aromas and flavors of green and gold fruits. It has a complexity, focus, and lingering finish that is sure to make it the star of our white wine collection. Fresh and ready to drink upon its release but sure to be a wine that will age gracefully.

Allegory of the Cave by Plato - “It is the task of the enlightened not only to ascend to learning and to see the good but to be willing to descend again to those prisoners and to share their troubles and their honors, whether they are worth having or not. And this they must do, even with the prospect of death.”
