This year, we honor the passion and legacy of Anthony J. Terlato. Our Angel’s Peak wine honors AJT’s dedication. He was a true visionary, dedicated to the industry and leaving a footprint for his family to carry on. This classic Napa Valley Merlot exemplifies AJT in a bottle. As the first winery he and his family purchased, Rutherford Hill was the birth of his dream realized and he remains our guiding light and angel.

Marisa Taylor
Winemaker, Rutherford Hill Winery
Growing up among the vineyards of Santa Rosa in Sonoma County, I guess perhaps I was destined to find a career in winemaking. At a young age, I recall visits to the vineyards to watch my godfather, a vineyard manager, work with the vines. And like most people who grow up in wine country, wine was a typical fixture at my family's dinner table. I developed a deep appreciation for the process of taking the tender grapes from vine to the glass, generating the spark of what would become my professional calling

Education: Marisa graduated from the University of California, Davis, first with a B.S. in Chemistry and then an M.S. in Food Science-Enology.
Years in the wine industry: 10-15 years
Winemaking Philosophy:
What is in the glass should reflect what is in the vineyards. My desire is to to help the grapes express themselves in the best possible way.
