Description
Composed of hand-selected blocks from our Oakville estate vineyard in western Oakville, this one-of-a-kind wine epitomizes Far Niente’s style of power and grace. Oakville is home to our winery as well as the surrounding 57-acre Martin Stelling Vineyard, the cornerstone of Far Niente Cabernet Sauvignon since our first release in 1982. Planted on some of the most beautiful, gravelly loam soil in the Napa Valley, the Stelling Vineyard grows wines of great depth, with layers of dark fruit and supple, elegant tannins. Approachable upon release, time allows the fruit to develop added richness and complexity and nurtures the bottle bouquet of our Cabernet, earning Far Niente the reputation for creating age-worthy wines. This 2018 estate-grown Cabernet is a brilliant expression of our estate vineyard and the Far Niente house style.

Nicole Marchesi
Winemaker, Far Niente
A graduate of the Viticulture and Enology program at The University of California at Davis, Nicole Marchesi honed her skills in Sonoma and New Zealand before coming to Far Niente as an enologist in 2005. She was soon promoted to assistant winemaker, and 4 years later became the fourth winemaker in Far Niente's 30-year history. During her tenure, Marchesi has gained a deep understanding of our estate vineyards, working with the sites and individual blocks to bring forth the discrete character of each. Ultimately, Marchesi strives to create wines of elegance and depth that capture both place and vintage, while staying true to the Far Niente house style.
