Description
Somerston Estate has 16 unique vineyard sites across our 1,615-acre mountain property. Everest is planted on a mountain ridge in the middle of our property at an elevation of 1,650 feet. The vineyard’s location on top of the ridge provides even sun exposure all day, resulting in even ripening. The vineyard is divided into eight separate blocks, all planted to three different clones of Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine was fermented with native yeast and is aging for 28 months in new French oak. For this special lot, we have blended all eight blocks together resulting in a wine of unique balance, structure and complexity.

Craig Becker is a seasoned winemaker and has worked with a wide range of varieties planted at some of California's top hillside vineyards.
Country born: United States
Education: Driven by his strong interest in plant and soil science Craig attended the University of California at Davis studying plant physiology, hydrologic science, enology, and viticulture.
Years in the wine industry: 15-20 years
Winemaking Philosophy:
It is Craig's artisan approach to winemaking and his extensive knowledge in viticulture that enables him to create superb wines from a wide range of varieties and sites.
