Premiere Reserve
2017 Cabernet Sauvignon
St Helena
Our estate vineyards, Kronos and Sunbasket, come out to play with all our Cabernet Sauvignon lots for blending once a year, expressly for this "Premiere Reserve" offering. We're always looking to walk the fine line between power and elegance in our wines and to have them speak eloquently of time and place. All hail from benchland between Rutherford and St. Helena, an exceptional corner of the world for Cabernet Sauvignon. Kronos brings a deep, brooding note to the blend, and Sunbasket contributes bright fruit. For Premiere Napa Valley, we added the conversation between old and younger vines. The Corison Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from newer vineyards, replanted due to phylloxera, whereas Kronos is one of the last old CabernetSauvignon vineyards in the Napa Valley, planted more than 40 years ago on St. George rootstock.
Winemaker, Corison Winery
I've made wine in the Napa Valley for 40 years, first for others including Chappellet Vineyard, Staglin Family Vineyard, York Creek and Long Meadow Ranch. Eventually I found that there was a wine inside me that needed to get out and I began to make the Corison Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.

Winemaking Philosophy:
Great grapes make great wine. Pick ripe grapes from a terrific, balanced vineyard and let Mother Nature do the rest. My goal is to make Cabernet that is both powerful and elegant, graces the table, enjoys a long, distinguished life and speaks of place.
