Anderson's Conn Valley Vineyards

Francenstein

Cabernet Franc
Napa Valley

10 cases produced

Highlights

  • The Cabernet Franc fruit is from low-yielding older vines from the northern edge of the Los Carneros nested appellation, west of Napa
  • Estate grown Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, co-fermented, make up 15% of this blend
  • Francenstein is aging in a new, very tight-grained Nadalié French oak barrel
  • Your wine is aging with the addition of re-animated lees

Description

"Francenstein" represents a brief but compelling departure for us, exploring the biological father of Cabernet Sauvignon - Cabernet Franc. Here, the winemaker begins with an aggressive selection of concentrated wine, then uses additional lees, re-animated from other casks, and ages it in the finest oak barrel available. This wine is a unique Cabernet Franc, unlike anything we've ever produced.
