2017 Cabernet Sauvignon
Napa Valley
Etude has been dedicated to sustainably growing and handcrafting Cabernet Sauvignon for more than 35 years. This 2016 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced exclusively from two storied vineyards in Napa Valley’s west bench. The well-draining alluvial soils from these vineyards deliver a range of expression and nuance that gives this wine a depth of character. Crafted with minimal winemaking intervention and aged in French oak for 20 months, the 2016 vintage is rich and full-bodied offering a lush bouquet of black fruit with nuances of cedar, cocoa and spearmint. This wine shows structural integrity and a focused fine-grained texture that suggest elegant aging potential.
Winemaker, Etude
Winemaker Jon Priest embodies Etude's founding philosophy. This has allowed for the continual cultivation of the highest quality wines, reflective of the profound influences of the soil and the season, as well as the hand of its steward.
A California native, Jon established an early reputation for his estate red wines while working at Wild Horse Winery and Adelaida Cellars for more than a dozen years, and earned further critical acclaim as the Winemaker for TAZ Vineyards in the Central Coast. In spring 2005, Jon Priest moved north to the Napa Valley to join Etude as winemaker and to continue the tradition of crafting world-class wines.
