Gravel and Sand
2017 Cabernet Sauvignon
Rutherford
Born from gravel and sand, this unique Premiere Napa Valley wine is a 2017 single clone Cabernet Sauvignon from our Rutherford estate in the heart of Napa Valley. Winemaker Jeff Cole will produce only 60 bottles from a single block bearing some of the oldest vines on the estate. Clone 191 yields small berries that are concentrated and structured, producing wines with an intense richness of dark ripe fruit and spice married with plush tannins. A powerhouse with a voluptuous mouthfeel, this wine embodies the compelling union between strength and grace and will age beautifully into the next decade.
