Description
From our first hillside block harvest in 2005 (first planted in 2002 and 2004), we have been tracking the wines made from this 1.5-acre vineyard. Our experience has allowed us to reserve our finest fruit from a particular section of the vineyard for this bottling. This 100 percent estate grown Cabernet Sauvignon was handcrafted by Jeff Ames and his colleague Dave Grega. Aged for 18 months in a new Darnajou French oak barrel, this wine will age gracefully for years to come.

I worked my first harvest in Oregon in 1998 and came to Napa in 1999. Was fortunate enough to work at several high-end brands with a friend before going out on my own after 2006.

Winemaking Philosophy:
The approach for the Nemerever wines is to have them show like where they come from, Eastern Oakville slopes. We do not fine or filter any of the wines since we want them to show the sense of place as clearly as we can. For the barrels we use only the best barrels that we can get our hands on so they are all Darnajou and Taransaud coppers. After several years making the wines and fermenting each separately we have begun to finely dial in the fermentations and what blocks go best which which blocks for co-fermentation. As always I want the wines to taste amazing but I also want them to taste like Nemerever.
