Description

The three-acre Oakville Estate Vineyard lies at the epicenter of Napa Valley. It is planted with two clones of Cabernet Sauvignon: Clone 337 for its complexity and fruit profile and Clone 4 for its bold tannin structure. The two combine to create a wine that is essentially Oakville in every aspect. This wine represents the best of barrel of our 2017 Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon, highly regarded as a cellar-worthy collector's wine. It delivers a complex fruit profile, bold tannins and a mile-long finish.

Andy Jones

Winemaker, Tamber Bey

Winemaker, Andy Jones

Winemaker Andy Jones has been on the wine-making team at Tamber Bey since 2013. In fact, he was the first official hire for the new facility in Calistoga. He is the director of winery operations in charge of all custom-crush production.

Prior to joining the Tamber Bey wine-making team, Andy worked under winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown at his Black Sears facility in Angwin, CA. Andy, a native of Jackson, WY., began his career in the restaurant business. His early restaurant experience led him to San Francisco and the California Culinary Academy, where he majored in hospitality and restaurant management. Following graduation, Andy helped open Solage Resort in Calistoga, where he was the assistant food and beverage manager.

While he was there, he met Thomas, and ultimately went to work for him in 2008. Thomas was Tamber Bey's founding winemaker and is now consulting winemaker. Andy is also winemaker for Vermeil Wines and Sebright Cellars, both of which are produced at Tamber Bey. He has also launched his own label, Spinning Gold. The first vintage was bottled in December 2017.
